Cookie Policy

This page explains how iShared.app uses browser storage to run the Service. In short: we keep this to a minimum, and we don't use tracking or advertising cookies.

We mostly don't use cookies

Unlike many sites, iShared.app doesn't rely on traditional browser cookies to keep you signed in. Instead, we use your browser's local storage to store your session token (and, for anonymous transfers, a session identifier) directly in your browser. Local storage works similarly to a cookie in that it's stored on your device, but it's never automatically sent to other sites and isn't used for cross-site tracking.

What we store locally

• Access and refresh tokens. Used to keep you signed in without re-entering your password on every visit.
• Anonymous session ID. Used when you send a file without an account, so we can associate the transfer with the browser session that created it.
• Cookie notice acknowledgement. A flag that remembers you've seen the notice at the bottom of the page, so it doesn't reappear on every visit.

None of this is used for advertising, and none of it is shared with third-party ad or tracking networks.

Third-party cookies

If you pay for a subscription, our payment processor, Stripe, may set its own cookies during checkout as part of fraud prevention and payment processing. Those are governed by Stripe's own privacy and cookie practices, not this policy.

Managing local storage

You can clear local storage at any time through your browser's settings, which will sign you out of iShared.app. Because we don't use tracking cookies, there's no separate opt-out needed for advertising purposes.
