Sending whole folders, not just files
Drag an entire folder into iShared.app and its structure - subfolders, empty folders included - arrives intact on the other end.
Individually selecting dozens of files loses the organization you already built into a folder structure. iShared.app instead lets you hand over a whole folder at once and reconstructs it exactly on the recipient's side.
Two ways to add a folder
- The Choose button. Click Choose files or folders on the transfer box and pick Folder from the menu that appears, instead of Files.
- Drag and drop. Drag a folder directly from your file manager onto the transfer box. Nested subfolders are picked up recursively, exactly as they're arranged on your drive.
Both methods produce the same result - there's no difference in how the transfer behaves afterward based on which one you used.
Structure is preserved
Subfolders keep their relative paths, so a folder like Project/Assets/Logos arrives under that same path rather than being flattened into one long list of files with no organization.
Empty folders count too
If your folder structure includes an empty folder - a placeholder for content that hasn't landed yet, for instance - it's preserved and shown on the recipient's download page, not silently dropped just because it has no files in it.
What the recipient sees
On the download page, a folder transfer shows a browsable tree matching the structure you sent, rather than a flat file list. Recipients can download individual files from within that tree or grab everything as a single zip.
Size limits still apply to the whole transfer
A folder's total size counts against your plan's per-transfer limit the same as any other transfer - see pricing for the size available on each plan.
